FSSE Special Analysis Information

Did you know that FSSE is able to provide special customized reporting of your campus’s results? Some of the policies for FSSE special analyses are different than those of NSSE so please review the information below before submitting your request. Why FSSE Special Analysis?

FSSE data can be used to identify areas of institutional strength as well as aspects of the undergraduate experience that may warrant attention. However, to ensure faculty anonymity, many demographics and academic variables are withheld from the institutional data file, which may present a challenge for making faculty comparisons meaningful in your campus context. As an alternative solution, FSSE offers customized aggregated reports so institutions can make comparisons between any two groups of faculty (e.g. adjunct vs. tenured-track; part-time vs. full-time) on campus.

Available Reports

A FSSE Special Analysis report will compare any two groups of faculty members as long as respondent anonymity is not compromised. A special analysis includes a Respondent Characteristics Table and a Frequency Distribution Report. A NSSE-FSSE Combined Report can be added for those who would like to compare faculty and student responses.

Please note: Unlike NSSE, institutional comparison reports are not available for FSSE. If you would like to compare your faculty data to national trends, please visit FSSE Grand Frequencies and FSSE Selected Results.

Cost

The cost for a special analysis is based on the complexity of the request and the time spent to complete it. The typical cost for comparing two groups of faculty is $375. If you would like to include a NSSE-FSSE Combined Report, the cost typically increases by $125 for a total of $500. Once reports have been completed and delivered, an invoice will be sent to the requester.

Delivery Date

Standard delivery time is approximately 4-6 weeks from the point that all report details (e.g., cost, delivery date, etc.) are confirmed with the requester. Expedited delivery is usually possible but could significantly change the cost of the analysis (i.e., an analysis that would typically cost $375 might be $750 depending upon the current workload at NSSE/FSSE).
